Ian Sheldon’s already prolific career spans from his widely collected watercolours of Cambridge and rural Canada to large format skyscapes done in oil and even glasswork. More recently, Sheldon has had success printing abstract photography on aluminum and he has even expanded his artistic skill to include an impressive collection of widely regarded entomological wildlife illustrations. Sheldon has received numerous awards, garnered extensive press coverage and enjoyed the display and publication of a vast array of his works.
20 years of celebrated work in the arts have brought Ian Sheldon full circle. Born in Edmonton, the artist spent formative years in South Africa, Singapore, England and France before graduating from Cambridge and moving back to Alberta in 1995. Sheldon’s lifetime of travel shows its influences in the freedom of his art, while his surroundings provide constant inspiration for his ever-evolving artistic endeavours.
